Getting to Italy is simple and exciting!
The nearest major airport is Florence Airport (FLR), which is about an hour's drive from Montalcino.

Another option is to fly to Rome, take a taxi to the Roma Termini Station, and take the Italo train to Firenze (Florence) train station (Italotreno.com).

Friday, May 23rd - Airport Transfer from Florence Airport to Montalcino will be provided if arrival is prior to 2 PM.

If you arrive to Florence after May 23rd, consider renting a car or using a car service to navigate around the area.
Monday, May 26th – Airport Transfer from Montalcino to Florence will be provided. We recommend that your departure flight from Florence is late on May 26th or on May 27th.

ETIAS for US Citizens
Requirement for entering the EU starting in 2025
Currently slated to begin in May of 2025. This process will require US citizens entering the European Union to fill out an application online with their basic identification, travel information, and specific security questions.

Ensure you have a valid e-passport, as it will be electronically linked to your ETIAS authorization.

Application fee is 7€, and can be paid online using a credit or debit card.​

Most applicants receive their authorization via email within minutes.

ETIAS authorization is valid for three years

Apply for ETIAS at least 96 hours before your departure to ensure you receive the authorization in time.
